Staff Chat & Skoolyte Support

Open Chat and pick Skoolyte Support at the top of the list, or press Chat with support in the Help Center. You can also use the round chat button at the bottom corner of any page. Support chat is free on every plan. If you write from the page that is giving you trouble, support can see which page you were on.

The Skoolyte Assistant, an automated helper, answers how-to questions straight away from this Help Center. Its replies are marked automated answer. If it can't help, it passes your question to the Skoolyte team itself. You can also press Talk to a person under its answer at any time. A person from the team then replies in the same chat, and the assistant stays out of that request.

The assistant can't see or change your school's data. Questions about your records, payments to Skoolyte, or something that looks broken always go to a person.

It's the same chat. If you write within a day of it being resolved, the same request reopens with the same person. Later than that, a New request line appears and whoever is free picks it up. Your earlier messages stay above for reference.

Yes, if your plan includes staff chat. Press New chat to message a colleague, or Create group for a group (e.g. "Class 5 teachers"). You can send files up to 10 MB, edit your messages, and Delete for everyone. Ticks show when a message has been delivered and read.

Only if the school turns it on. A school admin uses the eye icon on the Chat page to switch Online status on for the school. Each person can also hide their own status from the same menu.

The Chat menu item and the browser tab show an unread count, and a sound plays. Use the bell icon (Message alerts) on the Chat page to turn on desktop notifications for this browser. Notifications only arrive while Skoolyte is open in a tab.
