Who marks student attendance?
Teachers do. Administrators see attendance read-only, for checking and reports. The setting Attendance Marking Type in Settings → School Profile → Attendance decides which teacher:
- Once Per Day: the class's head teacher marks the whole day.
- Per Period: each subject teacher marks their period.
The same settings section sets how many minutes after school start a student counts as Late.
How do I mark attendance?
- Go to Attendance → Student Attendance and pick your class.
- Everyone starts as present. Change the absent, late or on-leave students. Mark All Present / Mark All Absent do the whole class.
- Tick Notify Parents to send absence alerts to parents.
- Press Save Attendance.
You can change attendance after saving. Keyboard shortcuts make it quicker: P = present, A = absent, L = late, V = leave, arrow keys to move, Ctrl+Enter to save. Press Shortcuts to see them all. Attendance can be marked offline and syncs later.
How do staff check in and out?
From the Staff Check-in / Out card on the dashboard (staff can add it to their dashboard if it isn't there). The device's location is recorded with each check-in and check-out, so it should be done at school with location turned on.
Where can I see staff attendance?
Attendance → Staff Attendance (admins). Filter by employee and dates to see each check-in and check-out time, with Open in Google Maps for the location. Teacher-wise history is also on each employee's Attendance tab.
Where are attendance reports?
Reports → Attendance Reports (also reached from Detailed Reports on the attendance page). Student attendance by class (present, absent, late, percentage) and a daily staff register, with export.
