Managing school admissions: from inquiry to enrolment

Skoolyte follows every applicant from inquiry to test, interview, decision and enrolment in one list. Parents can apply online while admissions are open, Intermediate applicants get a merit percentage from their Matric marks, and an accepted applicant becomes a student with one click, with the next admission number given automatically.

Every applicant in one list

  • Log walk-in, phone and referral inquiries with the class wanted and the parent’s phone
  • An online inquiry form for parents, open only while an admission cycle is running
  • Inquiries from your own school website’s form can come straight in too
  • Move several applicants to the next stage at once, or correct one that is in the wrong stage

Tests, interviews and merit

  • Set per cycle whether a test or interview is required — the steps cannot be skipped by mistake
  • Record test scores and interview results on each applicant
  • Intermediate groups (Pre-Engineering, Pre-Medical, Computer Science, Arts) and a merit percentage from previous exam marks

Admission cycles

An admission cycle such as “2026-27 Admissions” sets when applications open and close, which classes and campus are open, and the number of seats. It controls only the public form: staff can always log or admit an applicant.

Enrolment without typing twice

  • Convert to Student fills the student’s record from the application
  • The next admission number is given automatically, with your own prefix and format
  • The student is linked to their father, so brothers and sisters are suggested for the sibling discount

Common questions

Can parents apply online?
Yes. Each school has a public inquiry form that is open while an admission cycle is running. Online inquiries appear in the list with the source “Website”.
Can we rank applicants by merit?
Yes. Enter the previous exam marks (for example Matric obtained out of total) and the list shows a merit percentage you can sort and filter by class.
