What you can bring in from Excel
- Students, one class per file, with father’s name, phone and other details
- Each student’s own fees and old arrears in the same file
- The whole fee register: a year of monthly fees and opening arrears, matched by admission number
- Annual packages, including how much has already been paid
- Staff and teachers
- Families, so brothers and sisters pay together
How an import works
- Download the template, or upload your own sheet and match its columns to Skoolyte’s fields
- Choose the date format your file uses, for example dd/MM/yyyy
- At the end you see how many were added, updated or failed, with the row number of every problem
- Download just the failed rows from your own file, fix them and upload that file again
A good order to do it in
- Classes and fee types first
- Then students, class by class
- Then the fee register or arrears
- Then staff and families
Common questions
- Our sheet has different column names. Will it work?
- Yes. You match your own columns to Skoolyte’s fields during the import, so your sheet does not need to follow the template.
- Will admission numbers stay the same?
- Yes. Imported students keep the admission numbers in your file, and new admissions continue from the highest one.
- Do you help with the move?
- Yes. We show your office staff and teachers how to run their daily work in Skoolyte.
